Help with remote bass knob

Well after paying my last ticket for excessive noise after hours i need to find a way to turn my subs down while driving at night. I have heard that it is fairly easy to make a remote bass control knob. I am running dual sony xm1002hk amps. Could anyone give me a hand in making this work thanks.

PS. My HU only has control for bass on the loudspeakers

Bass knobs only boost or cut at 1 specific frequency (usaully 40-55hz)like a 1 band EQ. Upgrade your HU to something with a sub control... or just stop being a nuisance and be a little more responsible to stop getting tickets.

Just a thought.

ive tried to make one the parts run about the same as if you bought one, PAC makes one you hook inline with your rca's, but if you want to make one to need some poteintometers(spelling) rca jacks, a project box, some solder, heat shrink....You can get this all at radioshack. As for the instructions???? Req?? Jackfrost?? Jmac??

Some change the gain up to a certain set point....
