Help with recording with good sound stage

I wasn't sure where to put this because it doesn't portray to car audio directly. I've been into writing and recording music sense well before 2010, but am now only getting into mastering more seriously so I can show off my new tunes in may car. So sound stage has become more important than ever before...

I have been playing with this for about a week now and it only a little 50 second tid bit. But I feel like something is missing... Bass hasn't been recorded yet, so maybe that is it.

Here it is, if anyone can give me some tid bits to help make things sound more clear and better that'd be great. I'm using FL Studio 10 exclusively, I don't really wanna have to buy anything else, but I will consider.

Metal Sound Quality Demo Track

Let me know if you have any issues with the link.

The snare really does not fit well in that song
What would you suggest. I agree though, I'm looking for more pop, more oomph, but I just can't seem to get it there.

One thing I noticed as well is that the cymbals appear very noisy when listening to it over low quality speakers like my phone, but not in my HQ headphones or in my car.

Shitty speakers tend to have a fairly significant spike around that range. If you were listening to 128 kbps or worse music, that's where the treble starts to roll off so I think they do that to try and make up for it.

I think if the snare wasn't so low pitched it would be better

Okay, Okay. When I was playing with the cut offs I thought the snare sounded less and less realistic when moving the cut off frequency up. I'll play with some slight mods when I get home today, start playing with the pitch a little. Maybe move it up an octave to see how it sounds.

This is the first time I've ever played with a drum machine as sophisticated as FL Studios as far as customization. I can play the drums and know what I'm looking for, just getting there is the hard part. Thanks though, I never really thought about playing with the pitch cause I thought it might change the realistic sound, but all the snare loops in the program have that lower pitch.
