Help with pioneer deh-p780mp OEL screensaver studio

I just bought the Pioneer DEH-p780mp deck and im trying to put my own pictures and screensavers on it. Whenever i put the disk into the deck w/ the pics it says disc error. I followed all of the instructions on the oel screensaver studio but for some reason it wont download onto the deck. When i went on the oel screensaver studio download page it says that it only works witht he 880 and 980 or something like that but the 780 was not listed which doesnt make sense because on the main pioneer site under the 780's description it says that you can use the oel screensaver studio.

Also, when customizing my entertainment settings like the text color or backgrounds of certain screensavers, the changes are never saved. someone please help me!!

Have you tried all the basics like resettting the unit? Mine wouldn't work with certain brands of disks. Would play music off them but wouldn't load a screen saver off them. Switched from generic ones to memorex and it works. Not that the memorex ones are that great, they just happened to be fairly cheap and worked for me. I was interested in buying this to replace my 960, so let me know how you like it other than those couple glitches.

mv387, I have the 780 and I've successfully loaded images and visuals into my unit. The thing is, you can't just create these files and load them onto a CD. When you create your custom images or movies, they come out as .LKA files. When you have what you want, there's an EXPORT tab on the right in Pioneer's software. Here you drop in all the LKA files and on the right side it shows you what'll be loading into your unit. Then you click the button on the bottom right, it should say something like "LKA file export," and it creates a single .LKD file. This is the file you burn onto a CD and load into the system. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for everyones input but i still cannot get this to work. its says disk error when trying download them onto the deck. Im using maxell cd's but im gonna try diff. ones. Also, how do u save settings like text color and background. Everytime i switch the ent display and go back to one ive changed the text color and/or background on it goes back to the default txt color and background.

like nitewing said after you get the pics/movies you want you. for avi to movie choose that tab, and open an avi movie. s

start the movie and click capture

click save when done and name the file

it will say save complete 9you'll need to make another file for cd transfer)

now the make lkd file will appear

click the open lkd file button

choose the file you just made

when loaded into the display click the down button

it will put the file in the blanks available to you.

after you put the files you want in the boxes available

click the write lka file button

it will create the file you burn to disc and will open the explorer window

go to your burner program and burn the file that poped up in explorer window

make sure that you are burning a data disc.
