Help with picking speakers

The last 3 way set from ppi I checked out looked very cheap and sounded just as cheap. Hardly any mid bass and the tweets were very harsh

agreed!^ im not huge on the cdt stuff.... i heard a build done with with amps subs and speakers and was dissapointed imo... but who knows how it was installed set up etc.....

I haven't been touching on this much in my private messages but I will add more of my thoughts because I care. CDT has roughly 200 different products for sale, and many of those are component sets or coaxials. They have the whole range covered from entry level to high end, and the sound difference between the low end and the high end is massive. You don't know what you listened to, yet because you didn't like it and you know they were CDT speakers you're uncertain of what choice to make now. I've suggested a customized set for your needs and desires, and I don't leave a customer hanging if they have problems.

Another option you could consider is the Ground Zero Uranium components, GZUC650SQ. Then you could add a set of Nuclear 3" mids, GZNM80SQ. Those two sets together sound so good. They fall into the lower end of your budget.

thanks for the info guys! and im not saying cdt isnt good stuff i know they have been prove and can sound very good.... im just checking all options i tend to dig in to my own stuff tooo far lol. im stil researching a lot of product..... just got my set of a pillars in and im read to go just need to pick lol!

so what im thinking i wanna do is.... get a bad *** set of coax for the doors or convertible components then another set of 4'' components for the pillars this way i can control the out put from the pillars a little more then if i did a passive set of 3 way components....... only other thing i am thinking is going active for the front stage at least.... OPINIONS?
