Help! with PG RSD's

Well, i dont need any more help with the RSD's. My problem was in the wiring somewhere. I re-ran all the wires and everything works perfectly. I have the mid in the door and the tweeter still in the kicks. sounds beautiful, my ears are still ringing... I switched amps also to a 2-channel kenwood thats giving them 150 on each side at 4 ohms.
problem solved = hooray!
I spoke too soon... i guess the 150rms each side was too much for the tweeters, both blew. Im faxing the information to Audiosavings to get a return authorization number for a refund.

I thought they could handle that much power... maybe it was the crossover that failed. idk. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

if it wasn't a manufacturing defect or something, then you must have tried playing them extremely extremely loud and possibly still clipped them to blow them like that.

that sucks

I probably sent them a clipped signal, they werent keeping up with my 1 15"... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I need to try something louder i guess... any suggestions? still want good quality, and i dont have a problem buying used if someone has something for sale. let me know.

edit::: also.. they were LOUD and CLEAR before they blew lol, i would still suggest them to people. the mids still work fine, just the tweeter is fcked!

first you should find out why they blew. how were they clipped? amp maybe?
with the bass all the way up, I could not hear the RSDs very well (I couldnt tell you the song to be honest lol)... so it would be hard to tell if there was clipping. But, once i realized the tweeters went out, I took the RSDs all out and hooked up my old Type-S coaxials.. put them at nearly the same volume (for a few seconds) and i noticed distortion that time (with the subwoofer off).

So... the tweeters blew resulting from a clipped signal. the mids hung in there though, very powerful mids atleast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Im going to get another amp, and try something else. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

well i myself couldn't get a set of those RSdcs65's so i am getting infinity perfects 6.1. also couldn't get a hold of two rsd12" 4ohm so now im getting three rsd 10. everything is shipped so im waiting for arrival. i know my bass won't be as loud as yours and im only gonna run the comps off a autotek ss125.2 but....

i heard amazing reviews for all this stuff so i'll let you know if i get my ears to bleed or not when i get them in. you might have to wait though im sound deadening my doors before those go in and i heard it takes a bit the the mids to break in

Maybe turn DOWN your subwoofer if your front stage can't keep up???

Who would have thunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

just installed my RSD10, waiting on the RSD6.5 components still, the guy on ebay should have them by the end of the week if anyone else is waiting
Be careful with EBay on the PG RSD6.5,,

I got the run around from on LARGE EBay store . They stated they were in stock and were being shipped from one dist to another for 3 weeks. Finally I got my money back and ordered them from elsewhere.

Late!

Why do you think they should give you a refund?

since you want your tweeters to keep up, and they blew, why not get some super tweeters and hook them up to that xover

i would suggest either getting better tweeters, or turning down your bass

the rsd tweeters are just fine. they will get plenty loud.

if the OP likes his music loud then he will need more CLEAN power.
