help with panasonic h/u

hey guys, i picked his h/u up, dirt cheap! and want to put it in the womans car so i can hok up the dvd and fold down screen. anyway, stuck it in my truck cause it has already wired with the conector for my truck, and the thing has some serious on/off thump, and even when you change tracks or anything else for tha matter! its not just thru the amp, as my front speakers are hooked directly to the h/u and they thump too! any fixes? ie,,grounds? or should i just toss it?

up, anyone? this is a cool h/u and would like to know if anyone knows what to look for as in a problem.
