I have had an Orion 400 in my talon with 2 CV 12s(8ohm red rim series) for several years. Well we purchased an xterra about a year ago and since the talon has become a full drag car, i swapped the system to the xterra. It used to put out a nice loud bass response in the talon but sucks in the xterra. At first i thought it was because i had no preamp outputs from the xterra, so i bought a pioneer deh 3700mp (still have a OLD deh-515 in the talon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ). Sounds much better but STILL not near as loud without cranking the bass up so much that it distorts the factory speakers.
I dont think i hooked it up wrong but was looking to see if anyone had a manual or new the exact way to bridge the amp. I have tried it on +right/ -left and +left/ -right, which sounds about the same. I havnt even messed with the other settings on the amp other than the gain (it all looks right and sounded great in the talon).
Would jumping from such a small car with a hatch to the xterra with alot more air to move make that much difference???
Also i put the amp under the passenger seat and only used 16G wire to the speakers....would going bigger make THAT much difference?
Thanks for the help!
