Help with new system

Well since i got my car i am really missing the bump in the trunk.

The car came with an AIWA HU and Jensen 6.5s around and i am getting sick of the sound.

Looking for some ideas on what to get this time.

I listen to rock, and i am interested in a single sub setup unless someone can persuade me otherwise. I am thinking either 1 10 (top choice) 1 12, or a pair of 10s if someone convinces me that's the right idea.

I already have a very nice unpowered clarion HU so i don't need an HU.

I need 4 6.5s, 2 amps and a sub so that's it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So should i get components? you guys are obviously going to say of course, but my car has no premade spots for seperate tweeters and i don't want to make anything custom so basically i would like 6.5s. Not sure 2 way or 3 way, whichever is better.

I am thinking along the lines of

Infinity Kappa 62.5i for the doors,

SOUNDSTREAM Rubicon or US Acoustics Amp for the kappas (or choose somethin else!)

Elemental designs 10 or 12

Image Dynamics IDQ or IDMAX 10 or 12 (maybe just IDQ cause Max is pretty $$)

either JBL, memphis, soundstream, phoenix gold, ur US acoustics amp.

What do you guys think, if you think i should get something different that would be better for the same price or better for less money just let me know, and help me decide between this stuff would be a real help!

Thanks a lot

I would still suggest getting a good component system for the front. The tweets usually have mounts that are easily fixed to where they sound better to you. Personally I like Infinity Kappa speakers. You'll nice crisp sounding highs from them. You didnt specify if you were on a budget or not. Some of the stuff you mentioned is expensive.

I single sub setup can be just as good as using multiple subs. Its all subjective, what important is how it sounds to you. You mentioned Elemental and Image. If your really cramped for space I would go with the Elemental, they work very well with small enclosures. However if your looking for some bass that can clear your sinuses then I would go with an IDMax in a ported box.

You can get some really decent prices on Soundstream amps over at millionbuy.com. As for the sub, chosing an amp would depend on the sub you get. You need to take into account the power that your gonna need to push. All the brands you listed are good quality amps.

got a somewhat big wallet? one JL audio 10w8, one JL audio 200/1 amp, components dont require a huge hole, just a hole big enough to run the wire that connects them(less than 1/4 in diameter). Infinity ref 6.5 component up front, 6.5 infinity ref rear not component. JL audio 300/4 to run the 6.5's. Thats the best somewhat cheap way i can think of... the sq will be superb
