help with neons

You need a power supply to convert the wall 120VAC to 12VDC to run the neons. Since they don't take a lot of current, you could probably modify an old computer power supply to output 12-14VDC.

Cold cathodes can look very cool in places around the room...very nice for parties //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
interesting... do they make black light cathodes?

i found out that the ones at radioshack range from $50-100 depending on how many volts the neons are. Is there a cheaper route?

You need a power supply to convert the 120VAC from your wall into the 12VDC that the neons need. Basic electronics here.

If you plug the neons directly into the wall, you'll blow them up and trip the breaker on that circuit...
