Help with my Sundown SD1v1s...

Im currently running a pair of these 12s in a 4.1 ft3 box tuned to 34hz. Subs are being pushed by a MTX 502 bridged at 4ohm, (500w mono) which works out perfect for the subs since their RMS is 200w as well as them being 8 ohm subs.

My problem is in this box my lows seem to suffer. They tend to hit most frequencies very well, and quite louder than I expected, but just seem to drop off on the lower stuff.

Could it be my tuning? 30hz was recommend for me by Jacob (Sundownz) for these, but my box builder had already started work on the box so didnt have much option their.

My enclosure is a little large for them, could I extend a port wall to reduce the air space and drop the tuning a bit? Would it even be worth it?

I could just get another box built, but didnt want to spend the money, this was just a budget install to tide me over for the summer. I even though about grabbing a prefab sealed box, but I enjoy the output of my ported box.
