Help with midrange/tweeter in the a-pillar mount

So I cut a baffle for my midrange and tweeter to go in which will be mounted in the a-pillar. The tweeter sits flush and snuggly into the 3/4" mdf. I am not sure if I should mount the midrange on top the mdf with the main body going through the mdf or should I mount it off the bottom of the mdf and round off the top edges?

Hey I was looking to do about the exact same thing, what speaker are you using for the midrange? I've been having a hard time finding like a 3 1/2 that wasn't a coaxial speaker. To answer your question, I'd say from the bottom and leave the grill off, although on top would give you a bit more room; yeah I'd go top. A pillar usually isn't that spacious.

i would rear mount the mid, with only the suround and cone showing, then do a recessed grill to cover both mid and tweet.

Which ever you like best. But remember if you mount it from the back, remember to leave some way to get driver out for repair or replacement.
