Help with LOC install

So I installed a LOC in my friend's '06 Tiburon, didn't think anything of it, cause it's a really simple installation.

Day one : (didn't have ANY time to work on it) I cut the rear speaker wires, all 4 of them, and connected them to the LOC inputs. After this I plugged the stereo back in and it worked perfectly.

Day two : The only wire I cut behind the dash was the Acessory wire. I spliced in a really long wire to use a remote wire for the amp I installed. I also disconnected the battery for several hours while running wires for the amp.

So after day two, I plug the stereo back in, and it's messed up. The display is just a bunch of weird symbols. The volume knob does absolutely nothing. When you start the stereo, it is loud for about 1 second, then gets super quiet, then gets louder slowly over about a 2 minute time span. I can still change between CD and radio, it still plays both fine, I can still seek radio stations, and switch tracks and fast forward on CDs, it's mostly just the display and the volume knob....

Initially I came to the verdict that when I disconnected the stereo the head unit went into theft protect mode, since I read online about some Inifinity stereos doing that. The kid took the car to the dealership he bought it from, they told him it had nothing to do with theft protect. He called me from the dealership and told me all this, I felt bad and told him to just bring it back I'll try a few things to get it working again, but by that time the dealership had already removed my LOC. They ended up making him pay $45 for removing something he didn't want them to remove lol...so I felt bad.

Anyways, what should I try to make it work? I was told by somebody to install the LOC right before the rear speakers instead of behind the dash, that way I'll tap into the signal after the factory amp instead of before it. I don't think this is the issue since I had the LOC fully hooked up and running the first day and the head unit was fine. I'm thinking that it just doesn't like the remote wire being cut.

Anybody have any ideas or 100% guaranteed solutions?

anybody? I reconnected the Accessory wire today without the remote wire for the amp, and now I'm getting absolutely no power at all. The remote wire and the power wire, which I didn't even touch at any point in the install, are both not getting power.
