Help with kicker l7

I got a kicker l7 in a kicker fab box wired to ohm with the zx1000.1 amp mono wired and i put it in and i realize i didnt break it in and i burnt it to the magnet. I had ppl telll me there had to be a wiring problem because i cant do that by not breaking it in is it true? or is because i installed and pushed it?

well with the mono amp it has to be wired 2 ohm right no other choices? atleast thats what we did and what i was told

Subs dont fail because they need to be broken in, they fail when they are abused.

What was the voice coil configuration on the sub and how did you wire it from one voice coil to the other and to the amp? How did you set your gains?

the gain wasnt even half way up, its a 10inch l7 with a zx1000.1 amp to it and someone thought i might have overpowerd it and fryed it? it was wired 2 ohm around the sub i cant get any more diverse cause it came already wired in the prefabed box

i just got out the book and it says it has a peak of 1200 watts

yeah. rms is no where near the 1200 watts the 1000.1 puts out.

yeah rms is only 600 but imma get 2 more so imma keep the amp for now
