Hello Everyone,
I have a JL Audio 10W7AE-3 (10W7AE-3 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Drivers - W7AE - JL Audio) and this is my third time blowing out one of the coils. The coil that blows out is the one that makes you feel the hit or a sharp hit, according to how I set it. I am using an Alpine PDX-M6 (Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.) to push it. I set the frequency to the lowest I can on the amp which is 50Hz, set the Subsonic Filter at 15Hz, and have the gains at more than half, but lest than 3/4. I like to feel the bass more than hearing it, so my preference is to feel as much as I can out of the bass. Is my set up underpowered for the subwoofer?
