Hi,
I'd like to learn more about mobile audio so I'm attempting to install my first aftermarket headunit. It's going into a '98 Blazer and the HU is a Pioneer DEH-80PRS. I am installing two amps, one is a four channel amp which will be used in bridge mode to power one set of component speakers. The other is a monoblock sub amp. I have all of my materials and am currently sitting in my truck with the dash apart. My question is this- do I need to cut and solder every wire from the stock electrical to my wiring harness? I am under the assumption that the answer is no since I'm using only one set of amplified components and one amplified sub. The headunit has RCA outputs which I will be using with the amps.
I'm just wondering which wires I should attach and which ones I should cap off?
1. I'm assuming that the largest two wires (which are black and yellow) are my +/- for power so I assume I need those obviously.
2. I'm also assuming that the four sets of smaller +/- wires would be for four different speakers which I assume I won't use since I'm utilizing amps w/ the RCA outputs.
3. Can anyone tell me what to do with the remaining three wires which are orange, red, and blue? The blue one has a sticker that says "remote control"
I've attached a pic of my harness. Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks in advance for your assistance
