Help with HO altenator

I need to get a HO alternator but not sure what amperage to get. I will be running the following

1 (one) Viper d2500.1

2 (two) Zapco 350.2

1 (one) Optima yellow top

Big 3 upgrade (1/0)

I have a 2005 F150 (w/ a V8). It has a stock 130 amp alternator (if I remember correctly). So, what amperage should I get?

2500 + 350 + 350 =

3200 / 13.8 = 231 amps being pulled for the stereo assuming the amplifiers are running full tilt.

I'm not sure what the average trucks electrical system pulls for amps but I'd say a

300 amp alt would suffice.

It's a daily driver, so it wont be at full tilt all the time. Plus, all the amps won't be pushed to their max either. Would I still need 300 amps?

BTW, thanks for the input.

EDIT: Also, can you have too much amperage coming from you alternator?

because rarely will your system be pulling the full amount of power, unless you drive around with it maxed out the entire time you are in the truck, in which case you're asking to blow something up anyways. if you're serious about it, get a good stinger alt and call it a day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif if you don't want to drop that kind of loot, then find an auto electric shop that is respectable and they should be able to rewind your alt and get more out of it.

I was hoping to spend $300-$350 for one. I don't know how much the Stingers are, but I'm sure they are quite a bit more than that. I also don't want to re-wire my stock one, in case I ever decide to sell.

Mainly need to know the amperage I need.

Your alt won't put out too much amperage. Amperage/current is the powering being consumed. So basically you need an alt that is capable of putting out what is being drawn current wise. You would only have a problem if your alt voltage regulator was putting out too many volts. Then you would probably have some problems.
