I have a front and rear set of German Maestro sv6509s that i had installed and for some reason i just cannot get them to sound right. they sound hollow and lifeless and tooo high pitched. are there any suggestions on what i should do to find out how to fix it? adjust amp headunit dynamat doors etc?

could be phase issues.

what vehicle?

what headunit?

how wired (new or factory)?

1. if some are out of phase with others they will sound weird.

2. if you didn't adequately seal the openings and speakers they will sound hollow. i use weatherstripping foam on front and back of each speaker to seal against the door panel and door metal, respectively.

3. head unit amplifiers are small and low power. external amps are key, but only after the above are resolved.
