Help with Fader

My car audio system does not have a fader control. I want to be able to switch between front and rear speakers. Do you know of anywhere I can get a manual fader switch to wire my speakers to?

I've never ever ever seen a car without fader control. At least not from the past 3 decades.

new chrysler cars with amplified system have 2 ch input to amps. so when aftermarket deck gets put in you lose fader

68 Mustang convertible with original radio (no fader or balance) and 8-track tape player (has balance but no fader). Want to keep original radio and tape player.

Get a processor and stash it out of sight. It's your best bet. It'll improve everything tenfold, on top of adding a fader.

You can use something called an L-Pad to adjust the volume of each pair of speakers separately. That's how we did fader controls in the old days.

If you're using original equipment it'll be tricky, the speakers were usually grounded on the minus side. How do you intend to wire speakers to radio and tape player?

Already have front speakers wired. They are negative ground. I would have to run front and rear thru the fader switch to the speakers.

Something like this: JBL MS-8 Digital sound processor at Crutchfield.com

Provides the flexibility of switching between multiple sources and has built in amp that'd be way better than the amps in your factory radios. Also has fancy features like time alignment. Not cheap and not for beginners.

I think your best solution is an L-pad on each pair of speakers for level control and a switch or relay that switches them between sources.
