Im starting my first cheapo build on my 2003 Cobra, What I want to do is use a Pioneer 4200DVD (5v preouts) into a Diamond D3 400.4 amp which will power Alpine Type R 6.5 components in the front stage.
the alpines are 110W RMS @ 4ohms but the amp im running is 57W @ 4 ohm for 4ch , I can also bridge it and get 180W @ 4ohm for 2 channels. I dont want to underpower the type R's so my question is
should I
1. run the amp unbridged to the type R components in the front AND type R 5x7s in the rear stage pushing only 57W
or
2. Should I run the amp bridged only in the front stage with the gains turned down and either run nothing in the back or run the 5x7s off the deck.
Ive tried running just the front stage with the stock system , I actually think it sounds better but would there be any problems with running the gains low with the amp bridged?
thanks!
