help with deck

Ok I just had my car broken into (the bastards) but they couldnt get my deck out so instead stole every things else cd's sunglasses ect and the head unit i have is the sony cdx-ca850x and has no face controls so i order the remots froma website and its a rm-x45 and not the same as the one i had but said it was optional for that model and when I got it it has a wire to jack into the deck and I cant find the jackin point so does this mean the site was wrong and i got the wrong remote ?
