Help with Crutchfield deal??

So I have 2 infinity kappa perfect 10.1s svc. I got the 3 year warranty on them and everything. One of them the surround seperated from the cone. I would rather send them in for the new ones. Has anyone done this and does it cost to ship these in to get new ones? Has anybody heard the new infinity kappas yet?

More often than not, the warranty will not cover shipping to them but they will pay to return to you.

A few years back I fried one of the coils of my Infinity Perfect 12.1's. It was my fault, too much bass boost, too much power. I called Infinity and they shipped me out a brand new subwoofer, all they needed from me was a faxed copy of my original sales receipt/invoice. It arrived a few days later and they didn't even want the old damaged woofer back.

If their customer service and warranty policy is anything like it was a few years ago, then they should definitely take care of you. Give them a call.

Thnx, so should i call up infinity and do it or call crutchfield. I think crutchfield makes u return both subs. If infinity lets me keep them that would be perfect. I can easily fix the messed up one.

Call Infinity first. If they refer you back to Crutchfield then that's fine. But if their policy is the same as it was 4 or 5 years ago, they will take care of you 100%.

If he bought them from Crutchfield (who has some of the most amazing CS policies on the planet in my estimation) then he will have to do nothing more than package them up, call Cfield for an RA number after explaining the defect, and then call UPS to come to his house and get the package.

As far as them swapping the old models for the new models I could not say what their policy concerning that is. The only warranty return I have ever had to make through them was an eXcelon KDC-X569 HU that started giving a Table Of Contents error and refused to play any CD. There was less than a month left on the 2-year warranty and they gave me my RA info, I sent it back on their dime, and the turnaround on it was only 2 weeks.
