Im looking online for a prefab box for my sub.

While im sure most of you would suggest I build my own, I honestly do not have the time or skill to make one.

I have been looking for a ported box for this sub and came across this.

Sonic Sub Boxes 1SV12-GRAY Single 12" Vented MDF Enclosure

Im hoping that someone can give me their opinion on this box or maybe suggest another box.

Obviously looking for something that fits the spec of the sub. Fi recommends 1.6-2.2cuft for a ported box.

Thanks!

Please don't use a prefab. You went through the trouble of buying a decent woofer, use it in a real enclosure. I could design one, and Rabbit or someone could build it for example - there are options.

The prefab will be high tuned with little port area and sound lke crap. The port area may not be such a worry concerning the low powered driver, but the tuning will.

have someone build one for you.... i would stay away from prefabs.... BUT....

based on reviews on the site, it seems as if the box is tuned to 35 hz..... just sayin...

Thanks for the responses guys. I will reconsider my options. I was considering running it sealed but chose ported as from what I understand, ported can hit the low notes better?

Correct me if im wrong.

Surreal, ill submit a form on your site

Thanks again guys.

Appreciate it.

And if the lower notes are your main priority, then yes ported can be one of your main options. Sealed has a smoother low off that "blends" with the cabin. It wont be as boomy, authoritative, or as loud.

Optimal enclosure design will be figured once all options have been considered. Ill be watching for your submission! Thanks.

Unless they came out with a new model, 2.25-2.5ft^3 with a low 30's tuning seemed to give a flat anechoic response with a f3 of about 30hz. The Vas is a little high so you need some volume to get good low-end extension with them.
