help with cd player drive in kenwood head unit

ok so ihave 2 kenwodd head units. a KDC-3011 and a KDC-215s. the cd player part of the KDC-3011 does not work. i was wondering if i could simply take the cd player drive out of the KDC-215s and put it into the KDC-3011 and have it function correctly. also the KDC-3011 has a cd changer port in the back of it, is there a way i can modify that to be an audio input for my mp3 player? thanks for the help,

if the decks share the same cd drive you can swap...and there is an adapter made that will convert the Kenwood changer port to an RCA aux in so you can use your MP3 player through it....

in some units they are...you'll have to take them apart to see...i had about 8 various model JVC's and ended up making about 5 good ones out of all that were broken....all of those had the same CD mechanism....

well i opened it up and the drives looked identical so i swapped them and it didn't work. do you know where i could buy the correct drive for the KDC-3011 head unit. when i had them swapped everthing worked it just didnt spin the cd id did **** it in and change to cd mode just no spinning and i checked to make sure the ribbin cable was fully in and it was. so its time for a new drive.
