Help with buying new amp??

im going to check out a hifonics bxi 2006d today from some dude i found on craigslist. other than cosmetics how can i determine if the amp is good? aka i cannot set it up because i do not have big enough wires yet, and he might not have it hooked up.

You dont need big wires to "test" an amp. Just dont turn it up... You could hook it up to a car battery with 16 gauge wires and it will give some kind of output, if it works(partially in the worst case)

im putting it on two diamond audio d610"s

so even if i have 8awg wires i can hook it up and it will be fine just to test?

Have him meet you at a car audio shop and have them bench test it really quick.

by the way, you will love that amp. Very strong, but more for SPL then SQ
