Help With Bracing H/Us

Okay I have had this problem in 3 cars. When the bass hits the cd will skip. First just to state that its not the quailty of the h/u in my old truck i had a new alpine that skipped due to bass. Now in my new dodge it skips, but i dont care cuz i just use my ipod. but I just built a wicked box for my firend's truck and his kenwood does the same thing. I was wondering if there is a way to stop this. I read something about a backstrap but have no idea what that is. I installed all of h/u's and they played fine. What is the best way to fix this problem. It's really annoying seeing that we cant hear the full potential of his new system.

I think the backstrap is the piece of slotted metal they give you with new decks.

You can also try some foam strategically placed to cushion the deck.
