help with battery and alternator...

i have a '91 crown vic LTD, and a total system power of 1500w RMS...

i need help in choosing the appropriate battery and alternator upgrades. I have been looking at yellow-tops, and the ford 3G alternators...

i need to know the most efficient way to go about this.. what is the best bang for my buck battery/alternator out there for a 1500w RMS system??

will ford 3G alts fit in my vic?

any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated....

With a 200A alt, and a nice battery up front you would be fine up to 2000 RMS I'm sure.

I have an EA 200amp alt running 1300 RMS, and I don't drop below 12.4 playing a sine wave with only a wal mart battery. With 2 batt's and a nice alt you'll be fine.

i know what i need.. but as far as the actual installation goes.... thats where i'm a little sketchy as to whether or not i can do it all myself.. i've got all my components ordered seperately.. and i'm getting ready to go through with the entire install, but i think it's the little things that i'm going to have problems with.

i've gotten quotes from local audio shops.. and they are telling me $400 for a complete install with the gear i got... so **** that ****.... i'll just have to figure it out myself i guess.. i mean with the internet and a little common sense i think i'll manage.. but i've got so much money invested so far it's hard for me not to take it somewhere and have a pro do it..

with a little mechanical abilty an alt is no problem if it is a direct replacement, and connecting the extra battery is pos to pos and grounding the bat. Not sure what part is worrying you?

yeah i guess... i think i should be ok..

but will i really need an extra battery? if i just replace my current one with a yellow-top or similar, then get a 200A alt, and hit the big 3, i should be all set... but i'll just have that old battery sitting there... i suppose i could put it to use.. but would i really need to?
