Help with bandpass box

So my brother wants a bandpass box for a single sony 12" xplod sub. (its all he can afford) The sub says 1.15 cu ft for a vented box and .82 cu ft for a sealed box. So does this sub need 1.97 cu ft for a bandpass box? i dont have any experience with bandpass at all. someone help?

dunno. there not the easiest to tune. i would get aero ports so you can tune easier. i would do it firing into a 1.5 ported chamber and sealed 1 cube chamber //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1 cube sealed and 1.5cubes vented with 30''^2 of port area (or a 6'' diameter port) 5'' long looks good for the sony.

4th order deals with 1 ported chamber and one sealed chamber and a 6th order deals with 2 ported chambers
