I have a US acoutics USX-4065 amp which i am going to connect to my 4 indoor speakers for more power/clarity. While amped, will i still get the bass i get right now, or will it just play the high frequencies? I want all the sounds the door speakers can produce such as mid bass

Chris

I think he means compared to running off the head unit...

And yeah, you'll find that your soundstage, clarity, and dynamic range all improve with the addition of an amp behind your front stage. I know for my system, it was like taking a bag off the speakers and actually letting them play //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks..I think that about covered it. I was comparing it to not having an amp at all. Just a HU and speakers. I do not want my speakers to sound likie the treb is turned all the way up and the bass is all the way down.

Im pretty sure it has a filter. Any amp with a filter can be adjusted to not filter?

Chris

Main speakers can handle more power when you keep deep bass out of them. If you have a subwoofer to play the lower frequencies, then you can set the main amp filter for hipass mode at about 60-80 Hz and play them louder without distorting. If you don't have a sub then you want as much bass to go to the main speakers as possible so you switch the filters off (actually on the USX amps there's no on/off switch so you just turn the hipass all the way left). The down side is they'll make "popping" noises when you amp them with too much bass so keep the amp gain reasonably low. It's a compromise.
