Help with amp!!

I have a kenwood X1200M mono block amp that I have a 15 in l5 hooked up to it down to one ohm running 1200 watts to it. For some reason my amp keeps over heating and I can't figure out why. I have the sub hooked up correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

turn the gain knob down and read gain setting tutorial, check your voltage at the amp terminals while the system is playing and get back to us

you are going to have to wire it to 4ohm, or buy a different amp

Yeah, shoulda checked the amp before I responded. No go at 1ohm.

Probably should have checked if your amp was stable at 1 ohm before buying, sell it option 2?

Will that be as loud though? I'm going for loud with it. I have 2 15 in l5s that I'm looking to trade for 2 12 in l7s if anyone is interested.Would I wanna get dual 2s or 4s with my amp?

Kicker will always be "loud" but thats all it will ever be.

I am going to build a box for my wood shop project. Should i build like a 3-4 foot cubic box for 1 15 or build a 4 foot cubic for 2 15?
