I just installed some equipment in my 2006 Audi A4 and I am having some issues.
Stock HU that all channels are going through an Audiocontrol LC6i. Running a Cadence Xenith 125.4 amp running a pair of Crescendo components in the front and a pair of Boston Acoustics 10" G1 subs in my trunk.
Everything is "working" except my amp is acting up on me. It plays but when I try and tune it strange things happen. When I turn my gains or my crossovers it sounds like the sound goes in and out and cracks (not always but sometimes). Same happens if I push on my RCA inputs while the amp is playing. Then when cruising everyonce in a while the volume will change or I will get a pop. Sometimes I will hear alternator noise...other times clear as can be. It will literally change in an instant.
RCAs are all brand new. I tried 3 new RCAs and while it seemed to solve the problem at first, but it was actually the jiggling of the RCA in the input that caused the issue, not the RCA itself. It was the pushing and pulling on the terminal.
When I touch my mini screwdriver to the gain or crossover dials all kinds of crazy sounds come out like I said. Volume will change and cracking and popping. Sounds will go out. If I touch a different dial sounds will come back with some cracking and popping. I can get it to sound perfect with a bit of effort but after driving over some bumps or after some hard bass hitting the hissing will come back and all of the other issues I mentioned.
Since I tried the new RCA can that be ruled out? By the way the RCA is not anywhere near my power or ground wire.
The problem has gotten progressively worse where the whine will not go away.
I tried to give as much info as possible so please help if you can.
