Help With Alpine Type R 12"

Hi i just recently built a nice ported box for my single Type R 12" and was just wondering if, when u use the jumpers to wire the voice coils together and get it to 2ohm if the jumpers are kinda loose when u have the speaker wire in the terminal on the sub because it seems like it is fairly loose but can anyone confirm that its supposed to be like this? like the banana connector doesnt go as far in as it does without speaker wire in.

Comments/replies will be greatly appreciated lol I'm searching for answers everywhere lol.

the jumpers have been known to easily fall out so i wouldn't suggest using them just use the terminals to avoid that

So your saying i should either get maybe a two channel amp? and bridge it? but how would i hook it up one voice coil to each channel? or bridge the amp? but then i would have an 8ohm impendence. or should i make my own jumpers? and just wire the voice coils together through the speaker wire terminals? or maybe ill just elec tape the jumpers in that should work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm confused as to why you think you need a 2-channel amp?

You can simply take a short piece of speaker wire and jump the coils together at the push-terminals of the sub. It's doing the same thing that the jumpers are. Actually it would likely be a better connection this way because the jumpers can be crappy.
