IDmax, OZ ME, and ARC Flatline

I have searched and read that these three are similar, made by the same company, etc, etc. Anyone owned all three? I really would like an IDmax, but it is beyond what i want to pay. How similar are the other two? I have an SI BM right now, would i lose any output if i had either of these three vs my BM?

How do these compare to an RL-P?

thanks, just curious

all 3 aren't made from the same company. ID makes the idmax and flatline I believe. Not the Oz MEs, though.

I've heard the IDmax as well as the OZ, but not the flatline, yet.

The IDmax is more musical then the OZ ME, with the ME being boomier. I also believe the ME has more output capability from hearsay, but I never tried for myself since I don't like to push my subs to the limit. I've also heard that the flatline is boomier than the Idmax (from someone who has experience with both)

Ive owned multiple idmax's and just got rid of a pair of bms....I know with 2 idmax 12s vs 2 bm 12s in an identical box with almost the same power the max's got quite a bit louder and lower.

what do you mean by identical box? I don't think that being in the same box would not be beneficial to one of the sub you're testing. Besides, I would imagine the Max would be in competition with the Mag more than the BM

I had the Flatline and now I have the IDMAX. Idmax is much more efficient and plays much lower than the arc. The idmax has better kicks and plays very flat. The arc IMO plays much more smoother and warmer then the dry cold idmax. I prefer the ARC. there something about the idmax that is missing, its the tonal depth. hard to explain but its just me. great sub for sure though

The RL-p is a good choice and loves the ported box. The IDMAX is also an excellent choice, along with the ARC, as I have not heard the OZ I cannot comment. But in the end, your ears like a certain type of sound and we cannot really tell you which your ears will like more then another.

i have had some of the oz's and i had a discussion with some people over at the id forum, and what they explained was that the ME was a sort of clone of the idmax v1 when it came out at CES. im not sure if ID designed for somone else or if the design was stolen, or what legitimacy any of it has, but the ME is an affordable and great sounding driver.

i have personally heard two ME12.4's in ~3 cubes at 30hz or so and i have heard an RLP 18 in ~3.8 cubes at 35hz or so - considering it was different vehicles and different power, that aside the RLP18 got louder and lower, and off recollection my memory can not give a difference between the two as it was such a long time in between the tests. but i enjoyed both of them.

the idmax is in the mail, and i will be pleasured to build a V3 shortly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have the the flatline and have talked to you before about, I don't think the Flatline has the name recognition as the idmax but imo is the better woofer. While it is not as efficient as the Max it gets quite a bit louder and still retains the sound quality, while they are built similar the flatline has a whole lot heftier basket and imo looks better than the max also. I sold my original Flatline got an Idmax then sold it to go back to the flatline if it tells you anything.

Im on the same boat! the Arc sounds so much smoother

Well alot of people have experience with the arc and the idmax, I just came from testing out my brothers new 15 Oz Audio Matrix Elite and let me tell you, I have a 15 Fi Q and my brother has a 15 tc2000, and we were both surprised with the performance of the OZ audio. It blended beautifully with the front stage and got louder than the tc 2000 on 200 less watts(700 2 ohms vs roughly 950 at 1.5 ohms). I didn't get as loud as my Q but actually got lower, not to mention more accurate than both. Now on top of all this, the box was too small, so with the correct size box, im expecting a smoother blend with the front stage and it should get louder and lower. It defiantly a keeper.

P.S. The Build is very good on this woofer and well.
