I have alpine type r 12 inch subwoofer in sealed box. Before it was in ported box but the bass was too muddy and overpowered songs so i changed it to sealed and now it souns clearer.

The problem is that it doesnt play the bass that is in the background in songs. I dont know how to explain it but for example in this song

the bass plays in background and fills the room. When i listen to it in my car all i hear is when bass thumps. When i had a ported box it didnt play the background bass too. At home i have logitech z623 sound system, it has 8 inch subwoofer and it fills the room with the background bass but alpine type r 12 all i hear is thump. Are 12 inch woofers not designed to hit this background bass and i should get 8 inch subwoofer instead to solve the problem or is it fault of the box that the woofer is in. I am using 1200w 1 channel amp i dont think the problem is in the amp.

Thanks in advance.

Also how do you call this deep bass that fills the room?

I think what you're not hearing in the car is the bass line. I think the problem is with the amplifier, and before you say it can't be that let me ask that you post the brand and model number. Please be specific as I want to look up the manual.

Idk about that amp. And it's at 2 ohm so there isn't a whole lot of power going to the sub.

I know it sounds stupid but make sure you are running at 2ohms.

Here is a pic of the amp settings. https://imgur.com/a/IElLuLow pass filter is somewhere around 100hz and hpf and bass boost are 0. Gain is 50%. I have tried changing lpf and gain in many different positions but still couldnt get this bass line to sound.
Your amp settings are fine. Put the box facing the rear trunk as close to the trunk/hatch lid as possible.

Basically your issue is you had a garbage designed ported box to begin with, and now you went sealed and lost overall output as well.

You need a properly designed custom ported box tailored to your vehicle and sub's electro mechanical parameters. That room filling bass you get can only be had with a properly designed ported or two 15s sealed on a lot of power. That type of room filling bass is anything under 40hz basically what we call "the lows". the thumps you hear are 40hz to 60hz. Your current setup just isnt hitting any deep notes. Box orientation can play a part thats why i told you to face the box in that certain position. However it cant override poor box design. Any Box you can buy at a store pre-made is 100% garbage.

Your logitech subwoofer is ported it'll play some deep notes but there's even notes deeper that can be achieved only in a car.

If you are ever in orange county, i'll show you the difference and see what you can do to improve your setup.

Thanks for the info. I will try putting the sub near the trunk. This is the ported box i had. https://imgur.com/a/nFkX1 . I think it sounded bad because it didnt have the labyrinth in box like ive seen in other ported boxes. This is the car i have https://imgur.com/a/tf09d. Do you have any recomenndations on what ported box i should get. These two https://imgur.com/a/p98vl seem to be popular but im not sure if they will sound any good.

All those boxes are beyond garbage. Like i said none of those pre-made boxes you chose are worth anything. You'll want a custom built box from someone who knows what they are doing. Not something designed by a monkey. Those boxes are way too small with horrible port area tuned way too high.

Labrynth port is just a regular ported, its actually worst performing due to all the excess corners killing airflow. Whatever you knew about ported boxes, throw that out the window, its 10x more complex than that.

The cutting it off part is what I'm confused about now. The speakers in my car have two wires coming off of them but I would only have one wire on...
