Resonating Reticular
I currently have a 3 chambered box, the total internal measurements are 32"W x 11"H x 9"D (about 1.9CuFt total). Right now they're chambered off to .75CuFt / sub [two subs] sealed. I'm gunna airsaw around the screws, take out the walls to have shared space, then port it to 40hz. According to my math, with a single 4" port, I'd need 14-1/2" of length. Originally I was gunna sub forward port forward. But, there's simply not enough room.
My options are:
Port driver
Port passenger
Or...
Port through the rear shelf right into cab.
I want a decently loud set-up, but I'm more of an EQ guy... but my subs don't have enough power, and buying an amp in my current state of finances is just ludicrous... and since I can use my Dad's shop, tools = free.
I can't really build a new box right now, but I plan to. Unless the port makes a huge difference. Right now, most people can't tell I have subs... but they comment on how good my speakers sound. Which means my subs are blending in well, which is nice... but on harder songs, it just doesn't have the output I want.
BTW: Car is a '98 Ford Mustang.
