i just bought this truck and i love it, i want to upgrade the system to what i had in my old ranger.

i have a regular old run of the mill pioneer CD player (6yrs old) and an alpine ere-g180 EQ, what can i buy, build, design, install, so i can have my old head unit, (or upgraded head unit) and the 11 band EQ fit in the factory CD player spot and have it all look good as if it were meant to be that way, not slung in there by some retarded monkey.

any help, also has anybody used the pioneer shallow mount 10's that the guy showed me for this truck?

i think they make a kit so you can house an eq under it, not sure though, look around on the net, try sounddomain.com or partsexpress.com......

get a kit with a pocket under it and cut the back half of the pocket out. that works if you cant find one with a half din on the bottom, or what i like, mount the EQ under the seat, in the console with a shelf made for it, or like in the chevys if you dont have rear air, up in the top pocket. that way theives dont know for sure if you have an amp.

well then he might as well just leave his stock radio in for that matter, 99% of the time people with aftermarket radios have some sort of a system, even if it is junk

well i looked at the sites above and could only find double din's, or a single din with at "pocket", i dont know if the "pocket" would hold the EQ or not, i am pretty sure that my eq "alpine ERE_G180" was fairly common,. are there any other options, i dont want to order the dash peice just to have it not work, then i mangle it trying to get it to work and end up in the same boat.

i callled scosche.com and the customer service guy was cool, but the tech guy he transferred me to was a goober smoocher.

any other ideas.

i would say 40% of the time they have a system beyond stock speakers and an aftermarket head unit.

must not be alot of people with bump around you then.......everywhere i go unless i have a system, one car out of 10 is bound to have a system in it, be it sony explodes, or something actually half way decent.

Is that EQ half DIN or DIN?

If its half din, you can make up a dash kit type thing like I did, and just move the HU down a little, and put the EQ above it. Its made out of 1/8 inch plastic, very easy to do, here is a link to a picture of it.

Its held in my the two little top bolts that hold the heater controls in, and the dash peice that pops of holds the top/sides.

ok at first the link wouldnt work, but I got it too after i registered, how did you make that.

i'm really handy and can do just about anything, but i never have messwith making a dash peice like that, what did you use and how well was it supported.

also jmanpc i've seen Din's that look like the ones on metras sight and the EQ is a full 1/2 din. will it just slid in that slot or will the thing have to be modified for it to fit?
