help with 2005 avalance system

I was wondering if anyone here could give me some input on a friends system. My buddy has 2 10" kicker comps under his seat right now and he said they dont sound good. I told him its prob cuz its a shitty built pre-fab box that they made fit.

I know its gotta stay sealed as there is no room for a ported box in the location. I dont know the exact measurements but i was hoping somone here may have done an install on one of these trucks and could help me out as i wanted to build a new box and see how it sounded.

Im not a 100% its the box but thats the first thing that crossed my mind. Im also gonna look to see how the subs are wired and hope that his amp is not seeing a 8 ohm load. there being run off a kicker 300.1

The guy that took a look and "tuned it all" is a kid that i dont trust at all when it comes to audio. He has said some funny stuff that made me just chuckle inside such as his system ( 2 12" kickers and a hifonics 1000 watt amp) was doing 160 dbs....in a sealed box.

I built a box for a Ext Cab chevy ( not an avalanche ) Never delt with an Avalanche before, but i built a box for two L7 8's ported, on a massive audio 1000.1 and it sounded SUEE-PURR. Sounds like to me, the guy needs a new box, even if he went sealed, build it too the kickers exact specifications, for sealed, and maybe get another amp.(stronger) See if that dont help any.
