I said it, I meant it.
Ok so i have.....

Infinity 692.9i

Handles up to 330W peak power (110W RMS)

6" x 9"

Impedance: 2 ohms

Infinity 6020cs

Handles up to 270 watts peak power (90 watts RMS)

6-1/2"

Impedance: 2 ohms

and has a crossover connected to two tweeters.

Rockford Fosgate P200-2

50x2 @4 ohms rms

100x2 @ ohms rms

200x1 @4 ohms bridged rms

I know Infinity and Rockford is considered more of an amateur brand but i bought each pair for $90 each brand new and the amp for 80 brand new... I didnt think it was a bad deal but anyways... BTW keep in mind im only 17 working for $7 an hr and no my daddy isnt rich.

My problem is i want to hook both sets upto my amp. The amp is already hooked up and everything with the GND REM and B+ wires all where their suppose to go(i think anyways as the amp worked with a sub).

So from what ive researched is that if i hook both sets of speakers up into Series using 16 gauged wires and plug each sets of wires into both channel as in making it 100x2 @ 2ohms as in bridging it but using 2 sets of wires.... Then that should work? Also when im talking about "plugging in" im not talking about the speakers themselves but the crossovers.

Also my head unit a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X579 has preouts for the front and the rear and another one I think that is for subs? So how would i go about connecting both of the rca connectors ie. front and rear to the one set that is on my amp.

Ok so a run down

Will the connections from my speakers/crossovers to the amp work?

How can i hook up two sets of rcas to one set on the amp?

Incase ur wondering why im doing this...If u dont care and just wanna help with my above then skip the rest.

But anyways I think the amp on my head unit is messed up cause suddenly everything, all of the sound just cut out one day and i could only hear the base from my sub. What i did was unplug my amp rcas from the head unit and then the wires at my 6x9s. Then the front left side turned on. So i was like ok.... then i plugged in the back right and that one turned on... so sweet right? then i plugged in the back left positive and the speaker turned on then i plugged in the negative and everything cut out which is wierd... All the while the front right wont work at all. Im basically lost with this problem plus ive been wanting to hook my speakers up to my amp for awhile now so this is basically pushing me to do it. Y

Yes i did check to make sure ALL of the wires where connected and what not.

Thanks for reading and i hope I get some good replies and once i have this figured out ill probably ask more questions about a future plan i have brewing lol.

STOP! Do not connect the Front and Rear outputs together. There are "Y" adapters but those are intended to "split" the signal, not combine them. Example: A HU has only one set of RCA's and you have multiple amps or a 4+ channel amp. Then you would want to split the signal to accomodate the number of channels of your setup.

Im unsure, but I think connecting the Front and Rear outputs together will damage your HU.

Your Series calculation is correct. 2+2 = 4. BUT, if you "Bridge" you will end up with 2 ohms again because the 4 ohm on the left and the 4 ohm on the right will become 2 ohm if you bridge. Just run your amp in stereo and connect the speakers in Series to produce 4 ohms.

You can hook them up in series and put a pair on each channel, but they will only be getting 25 watts a piece. Still louder and cleaner than a headunit, but you should have got 4 ohm speakers with that particular amp.

2 ohm speaker in series with 2 ohm speaker is a 4 ohm final load... meaning that set is on one chanell getting 50 watts = 25 each

4 ohm + 4 ohm in parallel is 2 ohm final load .... they would have got 50 to each speaker

You only need 1 pair of RCAs for a 2 channel. The RCAs are left and right, so you will have balance from left to right, but not fade from front to rear hooked up in that fashion.

A 4-channel amp has 2 pair of RCA inputs, Effectively having rear left, rear right, front left and front right signal. This is why a 4 channel amp alllows you to balance left and right, fade from front to rear and a combination of both.

The only thing that saves the whole deal is the place I work sells a similar model amp.. the 400-4. It is listed at 50x4 at 4 and 100x 4 at 2.

Ive seen several birthsheets, they really do 75 at 4 and 130-150 at 2.

so your amp is a bit underrated at 14.4v

And yeah, dont use y-splitters to try and combine two sets of RCAs into one, it will cause a shitty sounding signal in the best scenario and could probably ruin your gear.

Theres really no reason to ever need to do this anyways

Ok so it seems im in the market for a new amplifier... How would this JBL GTO1004 compare to that 400-4?

EDIT: let me rephrase this i know that One is more powerful then the other as in rms ratings but will their be any major sound difference between one or the other? Also i was looking on ebay and can get that jbl FACTORY-REMANUFACTURED for about $100 or so is that a good deal for a jbl?
