Help wiring my Deck

Hello, I'm new here, so if this is in the wrong place i'm sorry.

I have a 1988 Ford F150, And a Pioneer DEH-P5000UB.

Its hooked into an amp, and twin 12inch Subs.

It sounds great, but i have to go into the settings of the deck, via the remote, turn on the High Pass Filter, at 125 Hz, and set the bass boost to +6, and turn the loudness to "high" to make the sound perfect.

I know how to do all this, the problem is, i have to do it every time i start my truck. Its so annoying! also the clock always, ALWAYs reads 12:00 when i start it.

Someone please, tell me how to fix it where it will keep the settings and not lose power when i shut the engine off!

Check the yellow wire on the wiring harness of the radio. That is your constant aka "memory" wire. It should read 12 volts while the car is on, and 5volts (?) while the car is off I believe.

Most constant feeds will read 12v even with car off. I am guessing the red and yellow wire of the radio are tied into the same wire in the vehicle. You will need to change that so the yellow reads 12v at all times regardless of key position.

Side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif if you are setting your highpass that high and bass on +6 with loudness on your car does not sound perfect.

No constant pwr. Find a new constant(memory/yellow wire) There should be a solid constant coming off the ignition switch.

You shouldn't have to put your deck settings like that. To me it sounds like your trying to get 1500 watts out of a 500 watt amp. AKA you are beating the shit out of your system.
