Which do you guys think is going to put out more power at 1 ohm an MA audio 401sx or a hifonics 1605D? Either one will be powering a pairof treo ssi 15s for now... I need to know which woul be a better all around amp... Ive heard alot of negative things about the MA amps but everybody seems to like the hifonics...

I have no idea on actual power, but I would expect them to be close enough that only a mic could tell the difference.

That added to the fact that even if the HF is inefficient for a class D it's still MUCH more efficient than a HC a/b.

I'd go with the HF, no question.

well the MA only claims 1200 at 1 ohm and the hifonics claims 1600, And MA rates there amps at 14.4 I believe, ive heard hifonics rates theres a lil lower around 13.8

both companies have a tendancy to rate their power at close to their actual output. based on my knowlege of both of these companies I would have to say that you will not lose that much from the hifonics. I also have to say that the hifonics, having a class D power supply will boost the efficiancy of the equipment over that of the MA. I would go with the HIFONICS. slightly more power but the efficiantcy is going to make the difference.
