Look for a solid amp to run two type-x 12s. I really dont want to spend more that $400. Less is better. Any thoughts?

You are wasting your money on that much power unless you have a fairly hefty electrical system. Have you upgraded the big 3, your alt, and added another battery? If you haven't, you will never see 2500 watts from it... you are looking at around 300 amps or so of current at 12.8 volts to supply that amp with enough juice to reach full potential.

If you haven't upgraded the electrical system already, you should at least be planning to do so or you would be better off just getting a smaller amp for less money.

I like headroom and the flexablity that comes with "more than you need." I've done the big three with 0 gauge, upped my alty from a 90A to a 130A and im adding a red top under the hood and a yellow top in the back, seeing as i still need to run my comps as well. Speaking of which, i was looking at the Otimas and how can i tell how much i need? Seems like the CA on these are so much more than what normal batteries do that the smallest of the bunch would do the job.

$800 for the sucker. buy one used. someone is sellin 1 on here for 400, i saw it last night. or if your lucky, ikesound might have a refurb instock for 300 something.
