so my labtop just randomly just turns off, when it feels like it. then ill try to start it up right away, and then it will power on for a second then turn offs, i have to wait like 20 to 30 mins before it will turn back on. it will go to start up re repair and then it does its thing and then it starts up, then again it will shut off randomly. any idea whats ups? or what i could do. thanks.

TOO MUCH PORN!!!

lol just kidding, it sounds like you have a bad cell within your battery. I would take the batt to a batt place, like intersate batteries, and they should check it for free.

my dads battery went bad in his laptop, it wouldnt turn on even plugged in, i think in some the battery has to be good and good connections to work, worth a shot
alright ill see

X2. does it lag at all before it shuts off? laptops are known to have problems with heat
it does not lag, all that happens is its like it goes to sleep, screen turns black, lights still on, then couple seconds later it turns off completely.

TOO MUCH PORN!!!
lol i hope not.

Thermal problem x3. If its a little older laptop and if you have any experience with computers, try taking it apart and spraying out the heatsink with compressed air. Also make sure the fan is pushing

that sounds just like my problem about 3 yrs back with my hp. New batt = happy hp

ya im on it right now, but it will just randomly shut off.

it will do when plugged in or not.
right there indicates its most likely not that battery, but more so its getting hot. laptops are designed to shut down when they get hot. after you wait the 30 mins are so the CPU harddrive and other compnenets get a chance to cool down

It is the motherboard I worked on a HP that did the same thing. After diagnosing for more than 3 days I found out that it was the motherboard. It's a cap that stores power for the cpu when it discharges itself it shuts down the computer.
