Help: Whats wrong with my laptop?

Hmm.. it could be a number of things. Mine was the battery and it was doing the same exact thing yours is.

right there indicates its most likely not that battery, but more so its getting hot. laptops are designed to shut down when they get hot. after you wait the 30 mins are so the CPU harddrive and other compnenets get a chance to cool down

It is the motherboard I worked on a HP that did the same thing. After diagnosing for more than 3 days I found out that it was the motherboard. It's a cap that stores power for the cpu when it discharges itself it shuts down the computer.

I would deff take it to someone who knows what they're looking at.

alright ill call them tomorrow and see what they say. you guys think the fan could of went out. cuz it gets real hot where i assume the fan us.

it could of. you would hear it spin faster when the CPU or harddrive its a certain temp.

now that i look at it, i dont think its working at all:crap: i cant hear anything by the window of it on the bottom and cant feel any think blowing at all.

all right so i think it is over heating. i usually sit with it on my lap on the couch so the heat has no where to go. for last 2 hours i had it hanging off the couch so bottom has some room to air out and it has not shut off. so looks like the fan is dead. so ...... dont know
