HELP..what is this wire?(boyo vtl400/420 rearview camera)

I got my boyo rearview camera and I was looking over the wires.

What is this wire?the one with the red arrow pointing at it

They had this red cap thing on it(yellow arrow)and I figured I had to pull it off.it took some force and the whole thing came off.

Called up the company and they said its a switch to change the camera angle left/right.they added just in case someone wanted to mount the camera in the front there car.
