I am looking for a box which is almost completely sealed in which I can mount an amp. I am thinking of building one, but it is going to be quite a lot of work, so maybe there is something out there which can help. I am looking for something which you can close completely save for a tube or something which would could be run to "higher ground" with an air filter on it or something. Preferably this hose would have a fan on the back of it, 2 hoses, one for an intake fan, one for exhaust. Ideally, I would like a removable front panel as well for access and wiring. What do you think? Something like this exist or am I wishing for way too much and its time to get the welder out and do some work?

Thanks for any suggestions...

I would recommend using Plexi or Lexan for this application. If you must, you can paint it or use outdoor carpet on it if you do not like the clear look. This would work very well for your application and you can drill a series of holes on either side to bring in and take out air. Also it will be very easy to seal, simply use silicone. Because this is not a sub enclosure, really you could use something as simple as power grab for most the sides and then maybe for the top get some stick on weather stripping and put some hinges or brackets on it that you can remove. Shoot even lock up!

I like this. I'm interested to see what your application is.

Another option for this, doing the same process for building it, would be ABS plastic. maybe a 3/8 or 1/2 size.

electrical terminal box AKA pekerhead for wet locations. They have sealed lids and you would be able to ad the hole you need and run wires in sealtight conduit

You can pick up a sealed stainless box in various sizes from a company called "B-line". They are available from electrical supply houses, the vent can be made using a myers hub and a cut and threaded piece of rigid conduit, also available at the same place.

Here you guys go with simple solutions lol. you didn't like my idea????

I like that B-Line panel idea.

We must have some electricians in here.

I still want to know what this thing is going in...................

Me too, OP will come back on and none of us will be here! He's gonna have a 100 questions about these suggestions.

Lol, I just noticed that the OP was yesterday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I thought this would be one of those instant-messenger-like threads
