Is cutting circles all freehand? Or are there stencils?

Jasper jigs from what I hear are the way to go, I use a compass like thing to draw the circles and then cut them with a jig saw, and sand them. It comes out nice, but I have had lots of practice.

doing it with my jig i get the blade all bent so the top of the wood is slightly larger than the bottom of the wood underneath inside the box, i hate that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
