Is cutting circles all freehand? Or are there stencils?

I have a router, but are circles freehand, or it there something I can get to make them cut PERFECT circles? I went to Lowes(I have giftcards) and they said they didn't have anything. odd....

I suggest buying a jasper jig. They fit almost any router and are super easy to use. It's one of the best investments I have ever made!

Jasper jigs from what I hear are the way to go, I use a compass like thing to draw the circles and then cut them with a jig saw, and sand them. It comes out nice, but I have had lots of practice.

The jig would be best. But, you can get away with a jigsaw and some measuring/compass work.

Using a compass and a jigsaw is fine for normal subs, but when you start doing baffles for your mids in the doors, a jigsaw becomes pretty hard to make those tight turns.
