Help w/ speakers

I recently purchased an 07 Corolla. I have begun to upgrade the stereo system and I'm looking for advice for what speakers to purchase next. I'm currently running a JVC KD-HDR1 head unit, Infinity Basslink in the trunk and factory door and rear deck speakers. The front door speakers include seperate tweeters in the A pillar.

I'm looking to upgrade the door and rear deck speakers. Generally I like to run Infinity speakers. I have also had MB Quart and Focal speakers. I was unimpressed w/ the Quart as one of the crossovers gave me many problems and I was unable to rectify it. The newer Inifinities seem to be a bit bright so I'm leaning towards the Focals.

I believe I can fit 6 1/2 in the doors and would like to also use 6 1/2 in the rear deck using a conversion kit. I've been told that 6 1/2 are a better design than 6x9 as the woofers on the 6 1/2 are round rather then oval and this contributes to better sound as the round speakers react more uniformally than 6x9s. I will be running these four speakers w/ a Profile AP1040 . I'm open to suggestions on the amp as it has not shipped yet and the excellent return policy of Cruthcfield.

I'm looking for some advice as I'm not up to speed w/ the current technologies and overall speaker qualities. I.E. Inifinty has grown and are more mass produced now and lack the quality the once were known for. This may not be true but seems to be the overall opinion of the few "experts" I have spoken with. Price is not the most important consideration but as with the other components I have purchased it seems you can get excellent quality for a low price. If you would like to give me other advice as to the other components I already have I'm willing to listen to those as well.

wouldnt get that amp no good,

try and get a eclipse or alpine mids amp

profile is not that good imo

also once u pick ur speakers get an amp that will match up with the rms on the speaker and or components

i agree with you on the round speakers preforming better

I appreciate the input but maybe I could get a bit more insight as to why I should purchase a paticular brand of speaker and also a specific model number would help narrow my search.
