Ok so i bought these momos off of a guy on here which i wont mention his name b/c it just aint worth it anymore... either way i was told the tinsel leads were broke on them, which is fine and can be fixed so i said send them. he does... and the leads are broke like he said, but i have a major problem b/c one of the leads is broke at the cone... there is no way that i can figure out on how to reconnect w/out hurting the cone... any suggestions?? i will try to post some pics when i get it back. i took it to a shop to see if they could work some magic, but no avail from them either...

cut the dust cap off soder the wire and reglue the dust cap back on. they will work like new i have done that alot for people

it is not the best idea but what else is there to do

no, when he said they were broke, he said that the tinsel leads were snapped and able to be soldered back... cant solder onto the cone...

not familiar w/ the dust cap process, can someone dumb that down for me?? i might as well do it, cant make it worse than what it is now...

with a exzacko knife get it in between the dust cap and the cone (heat the knife slihtly)

and carefully cut inbetween the dust cap and cone all the way around (heat the dust cap with a hair dryer ) than fix the lead and glue the dust cap back on in the same spot it came off, let the glue dry for a day than put some more around the dust cap

sorry for my bad spelling a gramer

just my 2 cents

so i went in to pick them up from the audio store and the guy kind of laughed at me when i said the dust cap thing, stating that yeah they would have done that if momo's had dust caps, but since it is a aluminum cone, the dont...

so is he wrong, or am i out of a sub?

that could cause a problum the only thing to do is to carve at the cone were the leads go in .

cut a small hole and try to soder it then use some glue and glue the holes

i have never don this i do not know if it will work but what do you have to loss

just my 2 cents

Although the alumunum cone might cause problems because if you touch the solder to the cone, then your gonna short it. I dont know man, try it tho, it aint gonna hurt to try it.
