help w/ a 1999 regal

Hello i just bought a 1999 buick regal w/ the monsoon system....which I didnt bother to test the system since I got a good deal on the car and didnt have a chance to bring along any cd's. Well it sounds horrible. If I turn the music up to try hearing the voice the base gets to loud. ( even at it's lowest setting) The bass seems to be all in the back and it gives a tiny sound off in the front including tweeters which are located above the door speakers. I am getting very fusterated (tried playing w/ the settings no luck) I planned on getting a new deck in the next couple of days would this help w/ the majority of the problems do you guys think? Also is there any sites where I could get get recommendations for my car audiowise? thanks
