Help viper 5701 remote start

I have a 1995 gti it will remote start but if u lock or unlock it will die and then start back up.

not long and never got it to work right

yea its a buddy of mine that is the manager of the install bay at best buy and we cant seem to figure it out. It has factory keyless entry but i dn if that could be messing it up or not

Did he disarm the factory system?

check the factory bypass module and wiring,

check the factory arm/disarm wire,

diode isolate your factory arm/disarm wire and also diode isolate your lock/unlock wire

I was just thinking, on some older model vdubs you need a double pulse unlock which disarms the factory system.
