Hi,

This week I paid for the stock speakers to be taken out of my vw passat and replaced with a pair of blam 165 rsq speakers.

I've noticed using mono test recordings that the tweeter output is significantly less on the drivers side, compared to the passenger side.

I know from the invoice that two people worked on my car, assuming one each side. I'm hoping that it's just that the wiring of the tweeter from the crossover is wrong one side, but im worried its because of either a damaged tweeter or crossover.

I plan to ring the garage on Monday, but does anyone have any past experience of this issue to put my mind to rest?

Thanks
Mike

And don't forget the balance factor. When on the drivers side, you are closer to the tweeter on that side and further away from the passenger side. The driver side can (and will) be overbearing with the balance set dead center, whereas with it bumped towards the passenger side, the balanced levels return.

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
